General Counsel
Position: Full-time General Counsel
Location: On-site (San Francisco), San Francisco, CA
Salary: $160k - $200k, 2.00% Equity
We are seeking an experienced General Counsel to provide legal guidance and support to our company on a wide range of legal and regulatory issues. As our General Counsel, you will be responsible for overseeing all legal matters, including corporate governance, contract negotiation, intellectual property, and compliance with insurance-specific laws and regulations.
The ideal candidate will have 7+ years of experience in a law firm or in-house legal department and possess strong knowledge of corporate law, contracts, intellectual property, and compliance with insurance-specific laws and regulations. The candidate should also have experience in the insurance, mobility, and software development industries, as well as an interest in the electric vehicle (EV) industry.
Responsibilities:
- Provide legal guidance and support on all legal and regulatory issues.
- Draft, review and negotiate a variety of legal agreements, including contracts, licensing agreements, and other legal documents.
- Manage the company's compliance with insurance-specific laws and regulations.
- Provide legal support on corporate governance and other matters.
- Manage outside counsel relationships and ensure efficient use of legal resources.
Requirements:
- Juris Doctorate (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- 7+ years of experience in a law firm or in-house legal department.
- Strong knowledge of corporate law, contracts, intellectual property, and compliance with insurance-specific laws and regulations.
- Experience in the insurance, mobility, and software development industries.
- Interest in the electric vehicle (EV) industry.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Must be licensed to practice law in California.
