Job Responsibilities:
As a Robotics Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for designing a range of outdoor and indoor portals, with a primary focus on creating waterproof portal enclosures and human interfaces. You should have prior experience designing products for outdoor use and possess the ability to develop consumer-facing hardware. Additionally, expertise in mobile robotics and bringing high-reliability automation products to market is essential. Your role will involve working closely with control systems, mechatronics, and robotics to ensure the successful integration of mechanical and electronic components. A solid understanding of core mechanical engineering concepts, including mechanics, kinematics, thermodynamics, and materials science, is vital.
Candidate Requirements:
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Level 2-3 Mechanical Engineer in a relevant field
- Deep understanding of multiple manufacturing methods and the ability to design for them
- Experience with linear or rotary motion systems and proficiency in Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
- Extensive experience with any CAD platform (knowledge of Onshape is preferred but not required)
Nice-to-Haves:
- A portfolio showcasing previous projects you have worked on
- Experience collaborating directly with electrical and software engineers
- Background in robotics
