Job Description:

As a Robotics Senior Electrical Engineer - System-wide, you will play a pivotal role in our organization, leading the embedded systems development for our autonomous, underground, logistics robot system. You will have the opportunity to work directly on the robot or other physical system components, taking charge of designing and implementing electrical hardware and firmware solutions. This position offers a high level of control over your designs and the chance to set the tone for our electrical hardware and firmware development environment. We are seeking a candidate with a passion for robot hardware, experience transitioning designs from early-stage prototypes to production, and a drive to turn ambitious ideas into reality.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the embedded systems development for our autonomous, underground, logistics robot system
  • Design and implement electrical hardware and firmware solutions
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to integrate common sensors and communication protocols
  • Implement robust controls and state estimation on production hardware
  • Familiarity with the "full-stack" of robotics development, including perception, planning, and control
  • Work on mechanical design aspects, ensuring seamless integration with the electrical components
  • Experience with RF communication systems and BLDC commutation
  • Create and maintain a good development environment for the electrical team

Requirements:

  • 1+ years of experience in electrical engineering, specifically in the field of robotics
  • Strong proficiency in embedded C/C++ on common microcontroller frameworks
  • Comfortable integrating common sensors and communication protocols
  • Familiarity with basic feedback control and state estimation techniques
  • Experience with electric motors and motor control systems
  • Passion for leading and fostering a positive development environment

Nice to Have:

  • Experience implementing robust controls and state estimation on production hardware
  • Understanding of the “full-stack” of robotics development, including perception, planning, and control
  • Mechanical design experience
  • Experience with RF communication systems and BLDC commutation
